The Globes // Our Top 5 Best Dressed!

Hi friends!

Let me start off this post by saying I had a really difficult time picking my top 5 best dressed. At this point I have no idea who Irina picked but I have a suspicion she feels the same. Everyone just looked SO good. Like, confident and relaxed. It’s so true that those two things can make anyone – but especially a woman who is constantly judged – look extra beautiful.

We decided to stick with our 2017 pledge of positive vibes only and give you guys our picks for best dressed and not worst dressed. I mean, it’s literally the second week into the year so we’ll see how long this pledge actually lasts.

Anyways, check out our countdown to #1 below AND in case you missed what Meryl Streep had to say last night (it left both Irina and I in full blown girl power mode) watch the video at the end of this post.

Parameters used to decide our picks:

  1. Garment
  2. Fit
  3. Styling

Enjoy!

Honorable Mention

Irina’s Pick – Hailee Steinfeld

Lauren’s Pick – Evan Rachel Wood

Irina –  I’m not typically a whimsical ball gown-girl, but Hailee looks angelic in this dress with matching lilac makeup. I feel like there are a lot of risky design elements in this dress, but all of them were executed so well that it’s a win.

Lauren – Who says a woman can’t wear a well made tailored tuxedo? Not I. When asked her style choice Wood said this, “I’ve been to the Globes six times. I’ve worn a dress every time. And I love dresses, I’m not trying to protest dresses,” she said. “But, I want to make sure that young girls and women know they aren’t a requirement and that you don’t have to wear one if you don’t want to. To just be yourself because your worth is more than that.” Be still my heart.

#5.

Irina’s Pick – Aly Raisman

Lauren’s Pick – Viola Davis

Irina – I didn’t see her on the rc, rather somewhere on social media and I felt like the heart eyes emoji. I think what I love most is how amazing this tangerine color looks on her in the dead of winter.

Lauren – I always love Viola on the carpet. The yellow against her skin and red carpet is major. I love how she did minimal jewelry and let her own beauty and the beauty of the dress do all the talking.

#4.

Irina’s Pick – Octavia Spencer

Lauren’s Pick – Naomi Harris

Irina – There’s always one pant look I fall in love with and this custom navy tuxedo suit is on point. She looks absolutely gorgeous and I want those velvet heels!

Lauren – It’s really hard to keep personal feelings out of what’s supposed to be a non-biased view of fashion. But the truth is – I’m just in love with Naomi Harris.

#3.

Irina’s Pick – Emma Stone

Lauren’s Pick – Reese Witherspoon

Irina – The more I saw her throughout the night the more I loved this look. Big fan of hair and makeup for this elegant pale pink look.

Lauren – Clearly I loved yellow last night. I feel like Reese usually sticks with a navy or black dress on the red carpet – so I loved seeing her in this color. I also just lover her overall styling of this look.

#2.

Irina’s Pick – Thandie Newton

Lauren’s Pick – Issa Rae

Irina – White on the red carpet is becoming a favorite of mine. everything is perfect from the metallic sequin embellishment to the diamond back-lace.

Lauren – Issa has THE most beautiful smile. I absolutely love how her white dress radiates against the red carpet. I love how the dress is sexy without having to show off literally any skin.

#1. Mandy Moore

Both Lauren & Irina.

Praise the lord, we agree on something!

Irina – She looks effortlessly beautiful, which is what I would aspire to look like on a red carpet. Also, need that dress. I’d just twirl in my living room.

Lauren – Samsies.

Love you ❤

Until Next Time!
