6 Step Fall Red Sangria Recipe

Hi Friends!
You’re in for a real treat! Today’s post features the recipe for Irina’s world famous (okay it’s technically not world famous but it totally should be) Fall Red Sangria in 6 easy steps. Any opportunity I can I request it. Birthday, social events and even in the summer. We had a beach day last year and although it took some persuading- we had Fall Sangria at the beach.

We’re sharing the recipe just in time for the holidays so that you can bring it to your family gatherings and show everyone just how put together your life really is. It will be the talk of the dinner table and hopefully divert any political conversations.

Estimated time: 40 minutes

Note: for best results make night before

What you’ll need:

1 large Apple (or 2 small- whatever floats your boat)

3/4 Triple Sec

1 bottle of red wine of your choice (I usually use Pinot Noir)

1 cup 100% cranberry juice (if you use cranberry cocktail juice I suggest using less honey, like half the amount or less)

Spiced simple syrup (recipe below)

A small pot

A pitcher

Step 1.

Create a simple syrup by adding the following ingredients into a small pot:

1/2 large apple2 cups of water

10 tablespoons honey

6 cinnamon sticks

12 whole cloves

1 teaspoon nutmeg

Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 mins stirring regularly.

Note: this simple syrup smells so yummy and is a great way to make your entire place smell like a Yankee candle!

Step 2.

Leaving simple syrup to cool, combine triple sec, wine and cranberry juice in a pitcher.

Step 3.

Add spiced simple syrup to pitcher.

Step 4.

Chop up remaining apple and any other fruit for flavor and place in pitcher.

Note: pears, oranges and cranberries can also be used for flavor and/or garnish.

Step 5.

Admire your hard work and pour yourself a glass.

Step 6.

Place in fridge overnight to allow flavors to combine and fruit to soak up yummy goodness.

Consider this our Thanksgiving gift to you to share with your family this holiday season. But also, families are stressful so we will pass zero judgment should you decide to make it and keep it all for yourself.

Happy Thanksgiving!
